# High Demand for Outdoor Furniture Driving Longer Lead Times

You might be familiar with the phrase, “the early bird catches the worm.”  With COVID-19’s effect on global production, this phrase applies to pretty much all products, including outdoor furniture and fabrics. However, the high demand for outdoor living combined with families spending more time at home have created additional challenges for our industry.

### Outdoor Furniture Supply Chains

Outdoor Furniture Supply Chains are currently backed up longer than usual. Lead times in the 4 to 6 week range are fairly common in the outdoor living industry (which is half that of high-end indoor manufacturers).  Currently, most manufacturers are shipping special orders in the 8 to 12 week range.   Manufacturers are still producing products, albeit at a slower pace.  The issue is not with a single manufacturer’s or supplier’s control, but delays throughout the world are having a ripple effect when it comes to sourcing.  At Casual Furniture World, we’re here to help you navigate through this!  Casual Furniture World has bought additional inventory compared to prior years past, and the access to our own cushion manufacturing at Triad Cushion Factory has us ready for the season ahead.  With a little proper planning, you can be enjoying the outdoor space of your dreams this spring and avoid additional delays!  

We want you to be able to enjoy your furniture, grills, and fire pits when the weather allows.  This may mean placing an order soon so you can take advantage of the beautiful Spring weather.  If you have any questions about lead times, our friendly and knowledgeable staff is here to help!  

### Effective Outdoor Planning

Coordinating an outdoor space sets it up for success: a lifetime of enjoyment with friends and family.  The best outdoor living spaces have thoughtful placement and can be enjoyed for their versatility throughout the changing seasons.  Our designers can generate 2D or 3D visuals of what your space will look like, ensuring all your needs and wishes are taken into consideration.

The right space needs to have the appropriate amount of seating and the right layout to create a visually appealing space and the right flow.  Our Design Consultants will spend an hour with you to lay out your space and help you with your choices in furniture, colors and fabrics..  As well as the functional, it is also important to consider the aesthetics.  

### Custom Cushions

The right fabrics in cushions, slings, and pillows can really tie your space together.  Our Designers will work with you to select the right fabric colors and textures to enhance your outdoor living space.  We can work with photos you send/bring to us or we can even come out for an on-site design consultation so we can get an even better feel for your space.

### Bringing it all together

If you are doing a full-scale renovation or building a completely new outdoor living space, our Designers are more than happy to work with your landscape and hardscape developer to discuss the important details that you’ll spend your time with, enjoying your friends and family.

### Warming up your outdoor space

When designing for your outdoor living space, be sure to consider a heating source, so you can enjoy your space year-round.  There are several options available, including gas fire pits, electric heaters and wood burning smokeless fire pits.  Enjoy the warmth without the smoky air!
